How Do I Meet People?

Pleasant Valley Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can build relationships that will help you learn and grow at Pleasant Valley Church.

Life Groups

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, Pleasant Valley Church has small bible studies held in member homes. There is one taking place almost every day of the week.  The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve. We encourage everyone attending Pleasant Valley to join a life group.

Women’s Ministry – L.I.F.T. (Ladies In Faith Together)

Pleasant Valley’s L.I.F.T. team gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). This group provides a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church, as well as building solid relationships to help keep one another accountable…..and of course some great laughs!  We have a great every-other Sunday night drop-in Bible study group, Above Rubies, where we dig deep into God’s word and share our thoughts and feelings about what we have learned through the week.

Men’s Ministry
Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages.  Our men’s group meets throughout the year for “Man-Cave” night, where we enjoy great food (and lots of it), great friendships, and some challenging talks.  We also hold annual fishing trips and a winter getaway.  Most popular is our every-other Sunday night Bible study group, Prayer It Up and Tear It Up!, where we dive into God’s word and share some great discussion time, followed by video games or floor hockey.

Youth Ministry

The youth ministry of Pleasant Valley Church is recognized for their close interaction.  Our Jr. High’s (grades 6-8)are called Reach, and our Sr.’s (grades 9-12) are Thrive.  Together our groups strive to make their love of God prevalent in their lives, being intentional in all that they do.

Family Fellowship

Building unity within the church family is a very important part of belonging to Pleasant Valley Church.   The goal of this team is to bring our Pleasant Valley family together by planning social events, some which are geared towards entire families and some which are for adults only.  Our desire is to help our church strive towards accountability, comaraderie, harmony and family unity which will be visible to and felt by everyone.

Mamma Mia

As a mom, grandmother or caregiver, sometimes it is easy to feel like you haven’t had an intelligent conversation during the daytime hours in a very long time!   At Pleasant Valley we offer a mid-week play group for moms and caregivers of children of any age….even those who don’t have children are welcome to join us.  We meet every Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 11:30 at the church for a time of sharing with each other while our kids play together.
